“Reflections” is a collaboration between choreographer and mother Yvonne Montoya and film maker Dominic Bonuccelli. The film captures the stresses, challenges, and joys of balancing motherhood and a career in the performing arts. Shot onsite in Montoya’s home, car, and at Buddy’s bus stop, the film shows the intimate, private, and marginal spaces wherein Montoya’s career as a director, dancer, and choreographer brush up against her role as a mother and bleeds.

The film features music by composer and artist mother Professor Maria Granillo performed by Edgardo Espinosa.

Choreography by Yvonne Montoya with Buddy.

Premiere TBA.

This film was made possible with funding from the Tucson Pima Arts Council, Arizona Commission on the Arts, and generous Indiegogo and MPA Party donors.

Film photography by Dominic Bonccelli.
